There's an easier way to teach multiplication.
Introducing...
How to Teach Multiplication
your game plan to teaching for TRUE understanding and fluency
For teachers and homeschool parents who are ready to take multiplication to a new level WITHOUT hours of extra planning.
Does this sound familiar?
Some of your students just don't seem to "get" multiplication.
It feels like no matter how much your students practice the multiplication facts, they still are not committed to memory.
You feel overwhelmed trying to keep multiplication fun AND meet each student's specific needs.
You find yourself thinking,
"I don't have time to teach the multiplication facts. They should already know them!"
"I know that memorization and timed tests are not the answer but I don't know what else to do!"
The great news is that there is a better way - a way that will allow you to do away with timed tests and teach for true conceptual understanding.
How to Teach Multiplication is a step-by-step video course for teachers - showing you how to take your multiplication instruction to the next level so your students can build strong number sense and understanding .
You will learn:
- the real reason that your students are not retaining the multiplication facts and how to fix it.
- the true meaning of fact fluency and how to teach in a way that encourages more than just speed and accuracy.
- the difference between teaching for memorization and teaching for understanding.
- the gaps in understanding that can affect a student's future success.
- how to use subitizing to build multiplicative reasoning skills.
- conceptual strategies for every set of basic multiplication facts.
- why math talks can transform how your students understand.
- the importance of making connections in multiplication and how it can enhance true understanding.
- how to teach strategies like halving & doubling and break apart in a conceptual way.
- why going beyond 10x10 won't be as difficult for your students as you might think.
- how to assess students at each level.
- and much more!
This course is your game plan to teaching multiplication for true understanding EVEN IF:
- you didn't learn this way when you were in school.
- you teach remotely.
- you feel like there's not enough hours in the day.
- you are a homeschool parent.
- you don't teach in a traditional classroom setting.
- you're a student teacher building your "library" of knowledge and resources.
Will this work for me?

Enroll now.Here's what's included:
This course is broken up into five stages. As you progress through each stage, you will be provided with the knowledge AND resources to help your students progress through each stage as well!
Stage Zero: Introduction and Big Ideas
Stage 0 is all about the big ideas that this course is built upon. This is designed to give you the information you need to put the rest of the ideas in the course into practice. We discuss an alternative way to view the CRA model for teaching math, the difference between memorization and exploration, and the true meaning of fluency.

Stage One: Building Confidence
Stage One is all about building confidence. We will discuss the importance of problem solving BEFORE teaching multiplication, how to work with multiplication in a conceptual way, and how gaps in understanding can hold your students back from ever truly understanding multiplication.

Stage Two: Gaining Understanding
In Stage Two we focus on building multiplicative reasoning skills and an essential foundation that will support students as they dive deeper into multiplication.

Stage Three: Making Connections
In this stage we discuss what I believe to be the missing puzzle piece in so many classrooms - connections. We discuss how to help our students see connections and relationships between facts, while developing their overall understanding of multiplication. It is these connections that will enable them to solve ANY multiplication fact!

Stage Four: Building Flexibility
In Stage Four we focus on flexibility - the often forgotten, but very important, indicator of fact fluency. We talk about the difference between teaching conceptually vs procedurally, and focus on strategies such as halving and doubling and break apart.

Stage Five: Becoming Fluent
By Stage Five, our students have developed true fluency with multiplication. In this stage we talk about going beyond 10x10, and how we can continue to teach and assess for flexibility and true fluency.

BONUSES
My goal with this course is not only to give you the knowledge you need to take your multiplication instruction to the next level, but also the resources you need. For this reason, I'm including a ton of bonus materials!

The Multiplication Station
A self-paced multiplication program that will enable you to reach each student where he/she is at. This station uses the principals from this course and breaks them down into an easy to understand program for students. For 10 years, teachers have been using this station to transform the way their students understand multiplication.
